Dear Friends of The North Gate:
Many of you are generous supporters of the Lord’s work through North Gate Ministries. For that, we wish to express our appreciation! That which began from our own personal resources, has grown to include the support of many others. As a result, our ability to serve and even expand what we are able to do has begun to take on a life of its own.
As an independent ministry, we do not have, nor do we desire, the outside support of any one particular organization. This permits us to respond to God’s call wherever and however we may. It permits us to move with the Spirit, and not the whims of a board of directors. We have been very blessed by so many and our hope is that this site will provide an even easier means for you and others to invest themselves in the Kingdom of Heaven among these young men and women.
We have always desired, most of all, to be a tent-making ministry, as Paul described his. That is to be self-supporting,so that the good news would go out unencumbered by such trivial matters as money. To maintain the integrity of this ministry, it has therefore always been our chief desire to pay for as much of it ourselves as possible. While we enjoy the blessings that come with others’ generosity, we have found that we enjoy sharing what we earn even more. In this way, The North Gate has provided us a means to exceed a ten percent tithe while continuing to thrive as a family.
God has made many things clear to us over the last year. Here are a few of them.
1. He says this is where we belong
2. Our purpose is served here.
3. We will be here a long time
4. We will purchase this property and expand The North Gate here
5. We will expand it to other military bases
I have a pretty great job, one I enjoy and for which I am blessed. However, it has one flaw. It is a contract, with an ending date. Since our purpose in being here is to serve the marines at North Gate, and since it is clearly God’s (and our) desire for us to remain here for quite some time , the potentiality of this ending date is unacceptable. Therefore, to meet the needs of our family and the ministry here, without ever having to ask anyone for anything beyond what they freely give; Belle and I intend to start a low maintenance business.
We have available to us a means to sell household, consumable items that everyone uses all the time. Our business, “Freedom International,” will provide a means to generate income so that we can continue here well beyond the contract date of my job. ALL retail profits will go directly into North Gate Ministry. (Any rebates and bonuses will go toward creating an income for our family.) In this way, if you currently spend money on toothpaste, laundry soap, shampoo, toilet paper, and other such common items, then you have a means to support North Gate Ministry by changing where you purchase many of these items you use everyday. It’s money we are all spending anyway. And, we will continue to do so no matter what the economy is like. It’s just we are leaving the profit at some other business like Wal-Mart or others who do not share our Godly agenda. This gives each of us the option to decide who the profit goes to, Wal-Mart or the Kingdom of Heaven? When was the last time you got to make a choice like that?
As a family, we have already been using these products in our home for years. They have proven themselves superior to anything else on the market, and on average we save money, time, and lots of fuel. It has always been a win/win for our family. We have been loyal customers for many years. It only seems fitting that we should accept this opportunity as a God-send for His purposes here at the Twentynine Palms Marine Base.
If this interests you, and you would like to look into supporting The North Gate in this way, we’d like to hear from you. We have a shopping cart on our website you can access at “paysyou2shop.mychoices.biz”. Any customer ordering over $75 worth gets free shipping, plus bonus gifts from time to time. Those that reply back to us will receive catalogs and other relevant information. In keeping with our principles, we will not speak of this matter again, unless you request us to do so.
Each of you has invested so much in these fine men and women through The North Gate. These contributions have permitted us to expand our capabilities significantly. And so we would like to encourage you to continue to do so. For this reason we have created this page as a means to continue to recieve tithes and offerings even from those friends and supporters at a distance.
And/or you may also support our efforts through visiting our store for your household needs.
Again, thank you for your generous support, and your part in helping us to serve the U. S. Marine Corps and in raising up mighty men and powerful women for the Kingdom of Heaven from among them.
Good Day, and God Bless
Ryker R. Kern
