 “OCCUPY!”

By Belle Kern - October 2011

Protestors have taken to the streets in America, to chastise big corporations and the rich.   They claim it is “unfair” for someone to have more than they do.   And so, civil disobedience has begun in big cities such as New York, Boston, Los Angeles, and even here in little old Yucca Valley, CA.   We had demonstrators on the corners today.   Socialism, and it’s more sinister cousin, Communism, is touted from the speakers platforms.   Participants shout “Solidarity!”, just like they did in the Russian revolutions in 1917.   Just yesterday, in Los Angeles, one of the speakers shouted that the movement wouldn’t realize find it’s “true voice” until violence is waged.   He compared the non-violent revolutions of Ghandi’s India to the bloody mess of the French Revolution, and said that he believed the French accomplished more with their beheadings.   And, he recommended that the protestors in L.A. start thinking about doing the same, amid cheers from the crowd.  Cheers…   Oh, the slippery slope that leads to destruction.   What seems to be right, often isn’t.    The Bible says, “There is a way that seems right to man, but afterwards it leads to death.”  (Proverbs 16:25)     (Click on title to read more)

The Lord is calling His sons and daughters to occupy the earth, as well.     The kingdom of heaven is God’s will, being done here on earth as it is in heaven.    He put the outcome of His estate in our hands, and we are in charge of the success of this venture.    His will is that we rebuild the "ancient ruins" of His way, and raise up the former devastations.     Will we repair the ruined cities and the desolations of many generations, like He desires?  (Isaiah 61:4)      The apostasy of the “60’s generation” has left us bankrupt spiritually and morally.    We now have had a generation to see the effects; disintegrating families, a self-centered culture of zombie-like entertainment junkies, STD’s, financial chaos, and are left with grandmas and grandpas who haven’t gained much wisdom for their many years.   What is the younger generation to do?

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills; from whence shall my help come?   My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.”   Psalm 121:2

The route to true peace and a transformed society begins in your life.    Jesus is the Prince of Peace. “Seek the Lord while He may be found”… (Isaiah 55:6)    Search for Him while you are young, before you are old… before your heart has become hardened by the deceitfulness of sin, so that you might gain all the blessings He has for you, and so you might see the effects of your life well-lived.

Then, don’t just seek the Lord, but be diligent to know Him more than anyone has ever known Him before.   Show Him how much He means to you.    Allow Him to root out all the darkness within your soul.  Live righteously.    Most Christians are grateful that their righteousness is bought and paid for by Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.    But many take that gift for granted.   They allow little “pleasures” for themselves, and don’t realize that those moments they hoard are idols and are robbing them of great treasure.     Some go for years… walking their own path and trying to live by their own reasoning.

“The eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.”  (2 Chronicles 16:9)      He holds his breath in anticipation, and is amazed by His people who forsake all else to bow their knee to Him daily.    He can trust a man or woman when they accept His gentle yoke of instruction and simply obey what He tells them to do.    He has said that there WILL be a generation, in these last days, that GETS it!   He calls them “Sons of Thunder”, these men and women who do not walk according to the flesh, but by the Spirit they are putting to death the deeds of the body (sin).   They will speak His Word and creation itself must align with the Truth, and be restored.   He talks about them in Romans 8:19-21  “For the anxious longing of creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God.  For creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.”   It will be glorious thing to see.

But, the reality is that Jesus’ part has already been done.  He has made a way for us to take back this planet.  “We are MORE than conquerors through Him”…(Romans 8:37)

Now, it is our part.

BUT, unlike the demonstrators this past week who advocate violent revolution, ours is an internal one. “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh (physical) but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.  We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking EVERY thought captive to the obedience of Christ…. “ (2 Corinthians 11:3-5)

Many Christians know this verse, but don’t realize the Lord’s POWER that comes with taking control of your mind for the glory of God.   Read the next verse:  and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever YOUR obedience is complete.”     In other words, when you are totally in submission to Christ, and have destroyed the lies in your head and the idols have all been slain … then the enemy has nothing to bring against you.   The curses have been nullified, and the blessings can flow through you.   You now can turn and command the hosts of heaven to do the Father’s bidding, and they will obey YOU – to punish the dark forces that rage against humanity.   This is the key to being a mighty prayer warrior.   Obstacles melt away in the path of this type of Christian.
